504/900 The resumption of invitations for express entry took place on July 6, 2022. For the first time since December 2020, federal skilled worker applicants received invitations. Included were candidates in the Canadian Experience Class for whom this was also a first since September 2021. In total, 1,500 invitations were sent to candidates in this draw, for which the lowest ranked candidate was expected to have 557 points.
This recovery follows an announcement made by the Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship on April 22, where he announced various measures to address Canada’s labour shortage.What'sExpress Entry
Express Entry is an online system used by the federal government to manage applications for permanent residence for skilled workers with a skill type 0 (Zero) or skill level A or B of the national occupational classification (LWOP). This system combines three programs, each with different requirements that complement the minimum requirements:- - Skilled Trades Program : is intended for workers with certain “specialized” occupational qualifications. These include industrial, electrical and construction trades, maintenance and equipment, natural resources, agriculture and related production, processing, manufacturing, chefs and cooks, of butchers and bakers;
- – Canadian Experience Class (CEC) : For candidates with Canadian work experience who wish to become permanent residents;
- - Federal Skilled Workers For candidates with work experience outside of Canada who wish to establish themselves in Canada on a permanent basis and who have a minimum score of 67 points out of 100 on the scorecard.
