Visitor visa

A visitor visa is an official document that allows any foreign national subject to this requirement to enter and reside in Canada for up to 6 months at a time. It is also necessary if a transit of more than 48 hours is to be made through a Canadian airport.

Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA)

A foreign national who is exempt from holding a visitor visa to enter Canada may nevertheless be required to have an electronic travel authorization. It is a document electronically linked to the passport and valid in the first case, for a maximum period of five years or until the expiry of the passport. Foreign nationals holding an eTA must also respect the maximum stay of 6 months at a time.

With the exception of nationals of some countries expressly exempted from this requirement, a foreigner must hold a transit visa if they will cross Canada in 48 hours or less. The application can be made online or on paper.

Parent Super Visa

The super visa is a Canada immigration authorization that allows parents and grandparents to visit their children and grandchildren. Valid for 10 years, it offers a maximum stay of up to 2 years. However, to be eligible, certain conditions must be met, including:

• Substantiate relationship to child or grandchild
• Justify Canadian Company Medical Insurance Coverage
• Hold a letter of invitation justifying financial support and status in Canada of
• the child or grandchild
• Take an immigration medical examination
• Etc.
